Whale Watching Tours, Whales Tail, Depoe Bay, Oregon

We are excited about the upcoming whale watching season that will begin in March and run through October. We will keep you updated on daily whale sightings and the current weather and ocean conditions. We look forward every year to meeting new people and seeing our returning customers. Be sure and watch our website for coming events, special offers and new ideas that we have in store for the coming season. Check our photo gallery to see the fun Whale Photo’s.

Experience the excitement of seeing gray whales “up close and personal” and other wildlife on one of our whale watching trips aboard the Whales Tail. We depart from picturesque Depoe Bay, Oregon which is the world’s smallest navigable harbor and only minutes from the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Here you can enjoy Depoe Bay’s rugged coastline and view sea caves and other natural wonders that line our scenic rocky shoreline. We live in a unique part of the world where Mother Nature provides us with abundant sea life, watch whales, sea lions, sea otters and observe a variety of bird life that both live here and migrate through Depoe Bay.

Because of our close proximity to the ocean, whale watchers can be out in the ocean and viewing whales and other marine life in a matter of minutes. Want to get up “close and personal” with some of our resident whales, the Whales Tail can get you there. Want to learn about individual gray whales by name, the Whales Tail can do that too. Every year I get excited about which returning resident gray whales we will see, Eagle Eye, Dotsee, Ice Cap or Depoe Bay’s most famous resident gray whale Scarback.

If there are whales in the vicinity the Whales Tail can get you near them. We take 2-6 people so there’s no overcrowding, no diesel fumes to smell, we have 360° viewing, it’s quiet, roomy and faster than the larger boats so you get to spend more time around the whales. This is a thrilling and exciting ride for people who enjoy being out on the ocean or first timers who just want to experience being out on the ocean and have an enjoyable ride along with some great memories.

If you would like to make plans in advance you can make online Reservation’s. Make your plans now and join us whale watching zodiac style on the Whales Tail to see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.
